Ahhh…the spring! What’s not to like about it [other than allergies if you’re like me.] Sunshine, colors everwhere, flirty and colorful spring dresses, rain (well, hints of it if you’re in California), the occasional rainbow, lovely butterflies, longer days… I could carry on about all the things we love about spring but you get the picture.
There are so many things about the beautiful season that excite us. But this spring, 4 stand out the most:
1. Bringing Culottes Back
You spoke, we listened! With over 1,500 re-pins and 272 likes of this Culottes pin from our Pinterest Fashion & Style board, we thought there could be no better way to thank you than to give you some tips on how to rock your pair (or two) this spring:
- Stick to the high wasted style
- Select the right fabric (hint, cotton is best!)
- Accessorize with the right top and shoes
- Wear them in the Fall too!

2. Spring Getaways
When your body and mind need to recharge, there’s nothing you can do to heal both other than take the time off to rest. So this spring, after not taking any vacation for 5 years, I headed off last week on a 5-day trip to Lake Tahoe for much needed R&R. Please look out for an upcoming post highlighting my experience and why I believe that it’s so vital for every woman to take time out for herself.
3. Going New
Ever have a sudden urge to do something that you’ve never done before? Well, this spring, I’m trying out hiking! Why? Because my little one loves to climb (and is pretty good at it), every time I do it with her I feel really great right after, plus it’s an awesome workout.
Also, by a stroke of luck (and a random conversation about plans for the weekend and our shared love of dance with my little one’s teacher), I finally get to check off Argentine Tango from my bucket list! She recommended a teacher who not only offers lessons in my neighborhood, but also does it on Fridays, which works out perfectly for my busy schedule! And get this! She’s even willing to go with me the first time, which is beyond exciting (any dancer can attest to the awkwardness that comes with trying a new dance style in a room full of strangers!)
4. Going Light
De-clutter, de-clutter, de-clutter! We can’t wait to get rid of all the stuff that we don’t need (I know, it’s hard for all of us but it must be done!) How? Check out Marie Kondo’s New York Times best selling book, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.” Plus, click here to read more about the author and why millions are using her book to help them let go of all the clutter.
Don’t know about you, but spring always feels like a time of renewal for me. Just like the flowers blooming, butterflies coming out of hibernation, rainbows coloring the skies, and rains cleansing the air, there is an eagerness to clean up, shape up, and take in all the beauty that nature has to offer. We can hardly wait to wear our flirty dresses, discover hiking trails, pick up some new dance moves, and feel lighter! Hope you’ll join us for the ride and peek back here every so often to see how we’re doing!
Your turn…what are you excited about this spring? Please tell us below so we too can share in your excitement!
Be inspired.
