Wow! Can you believe that there are just 3 months left in the year? Don’t know about you but I’m just not quite ready to think of the holidays or the new year!

Q3 was a slow quarter for gapmuse mainly because my life was somewhat in a whirlwind and transitional period. Why? I moved from my home of 15 years to an entirely new location leaving behind a wonderful community of family and friends. And if you’ve ever moved, you understand that stepping away from what you know, plus the huge expense that comes with it and all the time it hogs up is no joke! It can be a stressful and daunting experience if you don’t have the right strategy to get you through it.

Overall, it was a worthwhile experience and the right decision because it has improved the quality of my life tremendously! Amidst all the craziness, I found time to celebrate my birthday in July, though unlike previous years, with very little fanfare.

Even though I didn’t write as much as I would have liked, I did manage to share a few of my own musings and to publish some interesting posts from other sources that were relevant to you, our most loyal gapmusers.

We mused about transitions, principles we need to help us thrive, and how to become more valuable at work. We also published our very first SlidShare, learned how to reclaim our power with a simple 2 letter word, met our first female super biker (rad!), and much more!

In case you missed it, here’s a roundup of our musings in July, August, and September.

1. How to Manage Transitions in Your Life

Let’s face it, transitions are tough! Whether it’s moving to a new location, losing or starting a new job, changing relationships, going to college, you name it. It can be a daunting, overwhelming, stressful, and even scary experience. The stress typically comes from the laundry list of things that you have to do, fear of the unknown, fear of been alone, sense of loss (leaving family, friends and community behind), financial implications, and for those of you with kids, anxiety over how well they’ll deal with the change, and much more. 6. SlideShare: How to Motivate Your Child to Practice & Master a Skill

School is well underway! You’re glad you’ve disposed of your back to school to do list, and you’re finally settling into your daily routine.  We would imagine that for many of you, that includes getting your kids back into their extracurricular activities. And we get that this can be challenging for both parents and children as they adjust to the new school year — new  grade, teachers, and sometimes even a new school.

Amidst all the chaos, you’re probably wondering; how do I get my children excited about their activities and keep them motivated throughout the school year? Read more…

While I’m not fully settled in my new environment and different routine, I’m confident that I can now curve out some time (think gapmuse 30 minute rule) to dedicate to writing and publishing more musings in the next 3 months.

As always, thank you for stopping by and liking, sharing, and commenting on our posts. Hope you have a great quarter and wonderful holiday season! And be sure to drop in on us every so often. We’ll be musing about some of the topics that we couldn’t get to in Q3, such as Fedoras, Girls and Tech, and Bucket Lists, plus new stuff like Breast Cancer (October is Breast Cancer Month), Inspiring Women Around the World, Life Changing Books, and more!

Here’s to another inspired quarter!

Be inspired.
