3 Must-have Hair Products for Kids

Image of girl washing hair in a bath tubWe’ve all been there! You’re unhappy with a product that you’re using for your face, hair, or body.  You want to change it but don’t quite know what to replace it with or where to look so you do the next best thing and ask around your family, friends, and maybe colleagues for recommendations. It’s even more challenging if you’re a parent looking for the best and safest products to use on your children with as little testing as possible.  After all, who wants to use their child as a guinea pig?

This post was inspired by my friends and family who were frustrated that they couldn’t find good hair products for their kids.  Like most parents, they were concerned about the quality and safety of the products they use on their children and wanted to find a tried and true solution.

Here are the 3 kids hair products that I recommend consistently:

Caveat, I am in no way associated with the companies that make these products.  I only give the endorsement based on my experience using the products, which have worked beautifully for me:

  1. Nature’s Baby Organics Shampoo & Body Wash:

This brand of natural hair products was created by a mother who had a passion for green products and green living and was concerned that some of the products in the marketplace may contain ingredients that might be irritating to her children’s sensitive skin.  The products are developed mostly with organic or minimally processed ingredients and are well suited for kids with varying hair types and ethnicity.

This shampoo and body wash is available in 2 sizes and flavors: Lavendar & Chamomile and Vanilla Tangerine.  The former is my personal favorite with a smell that is simply divine!  The 8 oz and 16 oz bottles retail at $10.19 and $17.95, respectively, if purchased through the Nature’s Baby Organics Web site.  You can also find the products at health food and speciality stores, baby boutiques, salons, supermarkets, and discounted at online retailers, such as Vitacost:Image of Nature's Baby Organics Shampoo & Body Wash - Lavendar-Chamomile

  2. Nature’s Baby Organics Conditioner & Detangler:

This conditioner and detangler is also available in 2 sizes and flavors: Lavendar & Chamomile and Vanilla Tangerine.  The 8 oz and 16 oz bottles retail at $10.19 and $17.95, respectively, if purchased through the Nature’s Baby Organics Web site.  You can also find the product at health food and speciality stores, baby boutiques, salons, supermarkets, and discounted at online retailers, such as Vitacost:

  3. Mixed Chicks Kids Leave-in Conditioner:

This is probably my most treasured discovery!  If your kids hair is curly, unruly with kinky locks, tangles easily, and sometimes difficult to comb through, then this kids leave-in conditioner will work wonders for you.  It’s great for black and bi-racial children and makes the time you spend creating different hairstyles tear free, painless, and pleasant.  It can also be used on kids from any other ethnicity with similarly textured hair.  Oh, and did I mention that it smells great too!  Plus, you can use it both as a rinse off or leave-in conditioner.  This 8 oz bottle is available through the Mixed Chicks Web site and currently retails at $13.00.

Have you used any of these hair products or any other hair products on your kids that you would highly recommend?  Please share your experience with us. We would love to hear from you.
