National Campaign Inspires Movement to Keep Kids Safe:
Since October is both Domestic Violence Awareness Month and National Bullying Prevention Month, we thought we would peek back at a campaign that inspired a movement to protect children by putting an end to bullying. In 2006, PACER Center (Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights) created the National Bullying Prevention Month, a week long campaign held in October to raise awareness of bullying prevention through events, activities, outreach, and education. The campaign quickly evolved into a one month effort, which motivates people to engage in anti-bullying activities.
In support of this worthy anti-bullying movement, here are some additional resources to help you or someone you know protect kids from bullying in and out of school and online (cyberbullying.)
